One of my favourite days since I also teach German!
One might wonder why should you celebrate this day if you are not in Germany or of you are not learning German? Well, it's all about learning about the culture of a country, facts about the language and why not broaden your horizons and decide to learn it as well!!
With German language students, I would play vocabulary games like memory or match the pictures and the word, ready texts, storiew, fairy tales.
With students who have no clue about the language, I would find funny facts about the German language or tell the story of how a word was created, or even show them words that are similar in English and ask them if they understand.
