Ride like the Wind Day

The day commemorates the first time the Kremer Prize was awarded in 1977. The prize is awarded to people who pioneer human powered flight.
What to do on that day with your kids and your students?

  • Go to the nearest airport to observe the planes.
  • Fly a kite. It doesn't have to be a special day. Just go out and have fun.
  • Ride your bikes (Ride like the wind like the song)
  • Have the children look up information on planes. When was the first flight, who invented the plane? What are activities that have to do with flying. They can create a power point or a slide share presentation and present it in the class (in whatever language)
  • Have them listen the song Ride like the Wind and prepare a listening comprehension with gaps.
  • Have the students make a kite and write the instuctions and the materials in the foregn language.
Have fun!
