A couple of years ago, I came up with an idea which change the way my students think.
Why do you actually learn a foreign language?
Some of you will think that you are actually learning to pass an exam or to get a certificate, but this is NOT our main goal!
Your main goal when you learn a language is to be able to COMMUNICATE!!
To use the language for your studies, for your work, for your journeys!
To meet new people!
To know about new cultures!
Ans this is what this project was all about!
I had the luck to collaborate with four wonderful teachers:
Georgia Psarra from Thessaloniki Greece
Hana Ticha from the Chech Republic
Cristina Monteiro Silva from Portugal
and
Fabiana Casella from Argentina.
Our students made videos about their cities and we set up a padlet to post everything.
Taking part in a project like this builds tolerance among people form different countries, students can understand that they have a lot of similarities with their peers and it also builds up friendships.
They can get a taste of real life when they will probably have to work in groups and with people with different personalities, different mentalities and maybe even different time zones!
So last month, I had the honour to present this project again in WiziQ CO 16.
You can follow the link to watch the session.

We are still searching teachers and students who are willing to take part!
Let's be on the air globally!
A big thank you to WiziQ, Nelly Deutsch and Rob Howard who invited me to this wonderul online conference! I can't wait for the next one! :)
