This was really a tough one.... Although it is my job, I never really asked myself why I do it....
After reading the wonderful blog of Sylvia Guinan with a wide collection of teachers thoughts on the subject, I didn't have much to add...
So why do I teach?
For me, my job is not just a job. It is a way of living, it is a very important part of my life. I could not imagine myself being at home doing nothing! In order to keep myself content, I have to do something. Writing, planning, teaching, training.
Of course this could be done in other professions as well.... But why teaching?
First of all I just have to be around people. I consider myself a very communicative and open-minded person, so being around people completes me. Being around kids is the best. Children's way of thinking is not complicated. I love that! I love the idea that they do not have this sense of fear to express themselves.
Another thing I like about kids is that they are curious. They ask, they want to know how things work! You can see the curiosity in their eyes!!!
It's a great feeling to pass your knowledge to someone, no matter if they are young or old!
My students are and will always be "my kids"!
So this is really a small post but it comes from my heart!!!
This time the pictures do the talking!
Happy teaching!

It doesn't matter how long your post is; what is important is that you've just expressed the way you feel about teaching. It is an honest and open confession of a teacher who is passionate about her job. And the photos convey the message.
Thank you so much for taking the time to take a look at my post!!!
Love the pics of your kids and you. They say it all, Theodora! Their smiles and sparkling eyes speak volumes of your impact.
It's the spark in their eyes that keeps me going! Take care Shelly and thx for visiting my blog!
