5 Filler activities for your Language Classroom

You are in your classroom - or your virtual classroom, you have already read a text, did some grammar exercises, played your vocabulary games and still have 5 minutes to go?

Here are some ideas, so that yoour students aren't bored and do something fun while learning or revising:

  • Play Hangman! Children love it, it is a game, you can revise the newly learned vocabulary and your spelling!
  • Picture dictation: Teacher describes a room / students describe their rooms and the rest of the class draws it! Super fun and you practise rooms, furniture, adjectives, prepositions
  • What am I? Why don't you play pantomime? One student shows something and the rest of the class can guess. You can revise professsions, idioms, movie or song titles and whatever can be described.
  • Don't say yes/no game. One student asks questions and the other student has to answer without using yes or no. Or you can do the opposite and try to ask yes- no questions.
  • Test your memory game: Show a picture to the students and then ask them questions about the picture. They should anwer without looking at the picture.
Most of all, habe fun!
