This post is week 5 of 8 in the 8 Weeks of Summer Blog Challenge for educators.
First of all, let's see what ta BHAG is: Big Hairy Audacious Goal.
It is a goal that it's too ambitious to fulfill, but it is not impossible if you plan ahead and you break it into small achievable goals. Even if you don't make it to the Big Goal, you still have achieved the small steps that have improved you or in our case improved our students' skills.
A BHAG is always when you start a new project in the start of the year and you expect visible results by the end of the year.
Although in Greece, we live in a very exam-oriented environment, my Goal is not necessarily passing the exams, but improving our communication skills.
So first step is to contact students (teachers / classes) from around the world and see if anyone is interested in cooperating with my students.
Once we have concluded to a subject, each class (or student) finds information and particularly what happens in their country.
For example if we choose "culture", we can break it in pieces: art, music, theater, cinema, literature etc. Each month we make videos posting them on a common web environment (like padlet) and we also have skype sessions talking about our experiences.
Students and students from every country can communicate online to organize their presentations.
In the end of the year we can present our findings to the parents / other teachers/ schools with a simultaneous presentation in every country (if time zone permits).
That's the big plan / goal for next year. How about yours?

Theodora,
What a lovely idea. It looks like a great BHAG. How do you make connections with the other teachers and schools? It sounds like a great opportunity. Do you teach adult learners or children? I teach English as an additional language to grade 5 students in Bahrain. Maybe we can connect somehow, if your students are similar to mine.
Blessings,
Denise
P.S. I'm also in the #8WeeksofSummer blog challenge.
Theodora,
Love your BHAG! As you know Twitter is a great place to start. And you might like to try quadblogging! Here’s some information. I don’t know how current the quad sign up is, but you could contact the founder: David Mitchell @DeputyMitchell
If I still had a class, I’d be joining with you!

Thank you both for your comments. I am afraid, I couldn't do much with my students this year, since the year was short with the pandemic and schools closing / tutoring stopping! I would love to work / exchange ideas with you though!!!
