Xmas 2016: Travelling with Anthoula

Day 15: Lesson idea: Where would you like to go for Christmas? It can be anywhere in the world! My student Anthoula has been researching for beautiful Christmas destinations:

Christmas destinations around the world

New York
What better way to spend Christmas than travel to the Big Apple? New York is decorated with lights and big Christmas trees this time of the year. there are a lot of things to do in New York!

Venice

Venice is already a romantic city and at Christmas it becomes even more romantic. The whole city is illuminated, even the gondolas. There are a lot of shops and museums to visit. This time of the year there aren't a lot of tourists, so you can enjoy your holiday more.

Paris

Talking about romance, Paris is the city of love and one of the most popular destinations at Christmas. All the buildings in the city are in a festive mood, especially the Champs Elysees and the Eiffel Tower.

Nuremberg

It is a tradition in Germany to organize big Christmas markets where you can find the famous
"Glühwein", which is warm wine with spices. Nuremberg is a medieval city with great history and hosts one of the best Christmas markets in Europe.

Thessaloniki

Last but not least is my hometown, Thessaloniki, which can satisfy the Christmas needs of everyone. Throughout December, you can go to concerts, shops,  ice-skating and do lots more. The older ones can visit cafes, restaurants and clubs in the centre of the city.
