Although we don't celebrate Thanksgiving in Greece, I always thought that is is a really great custom and it's really a pity that we don't have something like that in Greece.
Thanksgiving project BS1
So this year now, that I actually have many children in my classes I decided to do something about it!
Of course I couldn't stand on the "religious" ideas of the day, so my project was based mainly on food and the idea of being thankful...
Thanksgiving project Cs
I used some handouts from - they have wonderful stuff about anything you can imagine about the food part ( children also expressed themselves about family gatherings and eating traditions/habbits)
Thanks giving project Bs2
The next step was making a poster with Thanksgiving pictures and students wrote the reasons they are thankful. I couldn't believe in my eyes that my pupils could think of such wonderful things to say.

Here is some of their work:
" I am thankful because I have got food to eat, water to drink, home to live and the affection from my parents"

"I'm thankful because I am healthy and I have got family and lots of friends"

"I'm thankful because my family loves me and helps me"

Αυτά είναι πράγματα για τα οποία όλοι όσοι τα έχουμε θα έπρεπε να είμαστε ευγνώμονες, αλλά δυστυχώς το ξεχνάμε..
Μια χαζή απορία: Τρώνε γαλοπούλα και στο Thanksgiving και τα Χριστούγεννα;

* γυάλινο δάκρυ:Έχω την εντύπωση ότι τη γαλοπούλα τη τρώνε τώρα και τα Χριστούγεννα κάτι διαφορετικό! Δεν το έχω ψάξει πάντως μια και ΔΕΝ μαγειρεύω!!!

*Arty: I is touching, isn't it? I never imagined I could get such answers!!
